Five years after the events of The Cavern Tavern, and the escape of evil Lord Dranor, the Elf Princess Tabita Orestes has taken her rightful place as the High Queen of the Five Realms. Her heart is heavy because she needs to heal the realms after all the hurt that Lord Dranor caused. She needs to keep the unity so the races of the Five Realm; the Halflings, the Elves, the Humans, the Dwarfs, the Green Elves and the Trobits won’t start grumbling again. Princess Tabita has the weight of the world on her shoulders, but she cannot carry it alone.
Caveborn is her one chance to make the future work; to make peace work – but to do that she needs the city to run properly. She needs to show the world that her capital can be peaceful and prosperous, and that she can rule. And so, the princess has invited some of the best people she knows to help her run it, forming The Stone Council and who better for the job than the loyal and trustworthy staff of Cavern Tavern. As the unofficial head of the Stone Council, at least until he can pass on the mantle to someone else, and as soon as possible, sits Berk the Town Clerk; one of the nicest of administrators that you would ever wish to meet. So nice, in fact, that people are grumbling that the Princess should send him back to the royal library where she found him. Caveborn needs a strong hand. The city needs a ruler, not a historian!
